JAY W. FERGUSON is a native of Mattoon, Illinois, and a graduate of Mattoon High School. He attended the University of Illinois where he earned two (2) Bachelor of Arts Degrees and his Master’s Degree.
Jay W. Ferguson commenced the study of law at Northern Illinois University and graduated summa cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2008 and returned to Mattoon to join the law firm established by his father, Mark E. Ferguson.
While attending law school, Jay was an editor for Northern Illinois University Law Review. His article entitled “XM Lawsuit: Threats to the Incentive Model of Copyright Genesis and the Obsolescence of the AHRA in a Digital Age of Hybrid Technology” was published in the Fall 2007 edition of that publication.
Jay W. Ferguson concentrates his practice of law in the areas of Family law including parentage, divorce and custody, wills, probate, guardianship, real estate, and landlord/tenant.
