Mattoon, Illinois native JAY W. FERGUSON has been practicing law since 2008. He returned to Mattoon to join the law firm established by his father, Mark E. Ferguson, after graduating summa cum laude from Northern Illinois University's College of Law. He was admitted to the Illinois bar in November 2008.
After graduating from Mattoon High School, Jay W. Ferguson attended the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign, Illinois, where he earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees and his Master's degree.
While attending law school, Jay W. Ferguson was an editor of Northern Illinois University Law Review. His article entitled "XM Lawsuit: Threats to the Incentive Model of Copyright Genesis and the Obsolescence of the AHRA in a Digital Age of Hybrid Technology" was published in the Fall 2007 edition of that publication.
Jay W. Ferguson concentrates his practice of law in the areas of family law including divorce and custody, personal injury, wills and probate, real estate, criminal law, traffic and DUI.
Another area of concentration for Jay W. Ferguson is family mediation services. Jay received his certificate in that area of concentration from Northwestern Illinois University in 2009.
His practice of law takes him throughout the State of Illinois.
His is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association.
